In 1982, James Heilbronner founded Architectural Dimensions (AD), working first in the retail tenant sector. Success allowed the firm to grow and undertake bigger projects, including the Fox Theater restoration, the Rotunda Building restoration, and the former Oakland Army Base redevelopment, in addition to neighborhood and regional shopping centers. Firm Profile James Heilbronner For The past five years, Architectural Dimensions has been the program manager for the former Oakland Army Base redevelopment. We have overseen master planning and design, and are currently coordinating the ongoing construction. AD has been a key player in regulatory agency coordination and environmental compliance oversight. We maintain critical documents and facilitate information flow for the entire redevelopment effort.

Retail clients are a part of our diverse project mix today and extend from clothiers, pharmacies and office suppliers to automotive peripherals. With extensive retail chain and large shopping complex experience, Architectural Dimensions added the hospitality industry to its client list, completing many restaurant and hotel projects, both chain and privately owned. AD has completed more than 40 hotels, with over 15 projects currently in the design or construction phase. Hospitality has been a mainstay of our company’s business for the past ten years.
